Fulfilling Trip

Wow, I knew it would be awhile before I posted, but I didn’t think it would be this long. Sorry to those of you who check my blog to find no new postings. I was on a trip and didn’t take any time to post while I was in the South.

My trip to Florida was two weeks filled with family and friends and I’ve decided that it would be impossible to do a post that would even come close to telling my story of those two weeks. I do want to say that it was a wonderful two weeks spent in quality time with people that I love. There wasn’t a lot of driving and rushing around trying to see everyone. I had good chunks of time to spend with people and enjoy one another’s company.

I’ve posted some photos in my picassa web album so you can check out my adventures through the photos. For now though I’ve decided to write a rambled list of fond moments I have from my two fulfilling weeks in Florida.

-Meditating on my parents front porch surrounded by amazing wildlife
-Tootling around with my Dad
-Bead shopping and making with my Mom
-Camping with my family
-Sharing the “palace of the elves/popcorn” with Tyler
-Kayaking with my Ivy & Tyler
-Kayaking and petting a baby manatee
-Watching Tyler swim with the manatee
-Playing cards with the fam
-Just hanging out in camp
-Eating enough junk food to last me a lifetime
-Meeting Kindred for the first time
-Seeing Tanya & Clea as new moms
-Bonding with Kindred and wishing I could stay there and be a part of her everyday life
-Holding & listening to Kindred “purring”
-Just “being” with Tanya
-Hanging out with the crew like old times, that now involves 4 young ones
-Eating an El Indio taco salad
-Going to the Orange & Blue Gator Spring football game
-Eating Hare Krishna lunch on Campus
-Being around a lot of Gators
-Walking around downtown Gainesville and bar hopping
-Visiting with Cindy, Blake and little Hattie Mae at the beach
-Taking an evening stroll on the beach
-Driving to and from Jacksonville Beach – amazing wildflowers and admiration of the live oaks and the strength of their branches
-Riding on the back of my Dad’s Harley
-Watching Tyler jump into the river after my cow girl hat to save the day
-Hanging out in the hot tub with my sister
-Feeling loved, missed, & wanted

I’m slowly acclimating back into Moscow life. It’s always so challenging for me to leave Moscow to go to Florida and after being back in my other world, it’s just as challenging to return. I feel blessed and thankful for the time I was given to spend with the people of my life on the east coast. It was truly a wonderful trip.

“A human being has so many skins inside, covering the depths of the heart. We know so many things, but we don’t know ourselves! Why, thirty or forty skins or hides, as thick and hard as an ox’s or bear’s, cover the soul. Go into your own ground and learn to know yourself there.”

  1. J Bug,

Thank you so much for making time for us! It was refreshing to see you and be with you. I love you!

The photos are perfect. Time to quit that day job…

  2. Last night Marcus was smiling and happy, saying ‘Wow’ a LOT. I asked him why- he was looking through your pictures :) You sure have some awesome photos from this trip Keli. I want to reach into the photos and pet the manatee myself and hold baby Kindred- what a doll! So tiny, 5 weeks old…she seems to be surrounded by such love. I’m sure she will miss you as I know Miles does (soon enough, you’ll have much time with him).

I’ve missed your posts :) Thanks for sharing your trip, I’m glad you had such a wonderful time.
